What are IET?
IET (Intelligent Industrial Patterns) are rough design designs of system parts, which don’t represent a given project but may be used to finish a given project in very short time. IET are most flexible and may be therefore very easily adjusted. IET inside also integrate systematic rules built on international and national standards, company standards or on individual design experience. For these reasons also the inexperienced constructors reach only minimum of failure when using IET. IET help the company to put into constructing standards of the organization. IET allow rules-directed constructing, which is considered as industrial standards of the future.
IET are in principle associative-parametrically designed sets, which are however built on the basis of individual rules. Due to ensuring flexibility and variability during the development process we have to follow them when creating IET, especially the dependencies of parts or subsets between each other are directed with these rules. To create such structures in highly reliable way the SmardSystem offers conceptions and methods adopted from the development process of computer programs, which are adjusted according to the needs and requests of 3D modeling of data in CAD. IET – a synonym for "engineering" based on knowledge.
Advantages of IET
- Conformity with standards
- Standardization of the development
- Faultless development
- Flexibility of the structure of product design
- Making the time of development cycle shorter
What is the object-oriented modeling?
IET defines the general structure and characteristic of all possible versions for the given group of products. In consequence it becomes complex. Object-oriented modeling provides a method of reliable development and especially it offers a simple way of manipulation with complicated structures of the model. It identifies architecture of the structured model while it keeps a small amount of available rules. 3D object-oriented modeling has the same advantages as object-oriented programming, which made it so successful:
- repeated use of already constructed parts of the system
- managing a complex structure of the model
- conformity among objects relating the standards and rules for the schemes of dependencies among the objects
IET simplifies the structured methods of the design and development. (Smard Methodology)
Standardization using IET
With IET it is also possible to establish standards of process and structure to the standards of parts and components. Standardization of parts is reached through design tables inside the core of the model. The already mentioned developed methods include process standards and finally the structural standard is provided by object orientation. The advantages are again quite clear: standards of the parts lower the costs of material, warehouse stock, and the design time. Process and structural standards allow to finish new projects and to adapt to different conditions when working with foreign projects in a short period of time.
IET integrates standards of parts, processes, and structures into firm standardized process of constructing (Smard Structure)
What can SmardWare do?
IET are designed to be used repeatedly. However very often you don’t know who and how will use the recently developed IET, how experienced the user will be, and under what conditions will they use IET. But also a complex and complicated IET should be easily used. There is software SmardWare for the needs of development and use of IET, which is composed of two basic parts. SmardUser serves to simple operating of already created IET. It offers transparent communication interface organized into control panels in the style of modern "windows" applications.
SmardDesigner is designed to create and define such interface for further use of IET. For its use it is not necessary to have any knowledge of programming. In both modules there are included other functions necessary for trouble-free creation of model. These functions also support its robust definition as request by IET. The Interface IET is easy to design and use. (User Interface).
Models usually have the necessary rules and knowledge already implemented. Therefore the modules, in addition to the foregoing, include large functionality for safe definition and reliable protection of object oriented structures of model, which are managed by rules as both these features are necessary for effective run of IET.
How long does it take to establish SmardSystem?
At first it is necessary to create some basic IET. Usually you can choose the pilot project for this, which is usually created by one or two specialists under the supervision of the company SmardCAD or IDIADA CZ.
Than IET is released and other constructors are allowed to use. The experience with using IET is than used for further optimization. Next step is to train in other constructors and to develop other IET...
Using SmardSystem will be more and more extended and the growth of productivity will be more and more clear.
The costs of establishing SmardSystem in general pay itself already after 3-8 projects, which are realized with use of IET. It depends mainly on the level of specialization of the used IET: widely applied IET requests more adjustments and tuning than highly specialized IET, which features however can on the other hand lead to very fast cut-down of design time.
Establishing SmardSystem with IET pays itself very fast.
Examples of IET
Hydraulic lifting system for cars is defined by three parameters: axle bases, axle width, weight class. Further procedure of work is usually in conformity with corresponding DIN standards. To construct a new lifting system using IET according to the parameters requested by the customer including the drawings and FEM-analyses demands 3-4 hours.
As you can see in the picture, the conception of form designed using IET and using logic subsets of the tool such as ejection system, sun roofs, and wiring, is designed just in one day. This demonstrated the robustness of IET.
