Data export
The tool serves to export data from application SmarTeam. The selected files from SmarTeam are copied to disc, compressed into zip file, and dispatch note is created. The dispatch note is composed of template in *.rtf format. There is the same number of dispatch notes as the number of contact companies assigned and in each there is a contact person assigned. The list of files, export author, date etc. is filled in.
After the export the entry is created in the database regarding the export together with link to all connected objects (project, documents, and contact details). It is possible to perform later the search according these criteria.
The dispatch note can be created any time later and possibly saved into the file.
It is possible to generate the export zip package at any time again or to create new export with changed parameters based on the already performed export.
CATIA files can be renamed during the export according to the “part number”. Application supports control of data by tool VWG Validat.
Data import
Import module serves to collective sorting of data into application SmarTeam from the disc or data opened in CATIA V5 and to create an entry about the import. The chosen files from the disc are shown in transparent table. It is necessary to fill in the basic information for each file – type of profile card, if check-in is going to be created, file for submission, dispatch note status.
The chosen files are filled into SmarTeam database when import is started. An object Import is created, which is connected to imported data, project and contact companies. According to these connections it is possible to perform further search.
One of the documents can be labeled as a dispatch note and is filed to the object Import (not into the tree of the documentation).
Import voluntarily enters name of the file into the field part number by CATIA files.

Copying does not transfer data, it only creates files. The user can choose, which files will be copied.
Service – Providing duplicity of file names in database
Duplicate names of files can cause problems in life-cycle operations, especially during check-out of larger sets, including parts of the same name on the disc. Situation can typically happen e.g. when working with catalogues. The service requests access to SmarTeam DataBase server. The result is list of files names + number of incidence.
Control of file name duplicity
A script controls name of the file saved into application SmarTeam. If the name already exists in the database, the user gets warning and is not allowed to insert the object.
Program automatically distinguished Oracle/MSSQL database and you can preset if the user should be only warned about the duplicity and will be or won’t be allowed to save.
SmarTeam Project Manager
It is a program allowing some general operations, which are not standardly at disposal in the application SmarTeam. At the moment SmarTeam Project Manager offers following functions:
- loading all documents and all their versions linked to chosen project in table view
- saving list into the file and its loading from the file
- evaluation of the whole tree of the set, all descendents and all revisions of descendents
- deleting chosen documents
- linking all shown data as mentioned above ( e.g. whole sets including revisions) to the chosen project
SmarTeam TreeUpdate
Program serving to complete update of sets CATIA V5:
- provides update of the whole hierarchical tree of the set CATIA V5
- shows transparently the state of sets, distinguishes parts and subsets, which are not in the last revision or in the checked-out state
- performs smaller logging; the log can be saved
