engDAX

Communication software designed for electronic data exchange through ISDN line or TCP/IP according to the VDA 4914/2 ODETTE protocol, which ensures maximal safety of the data transfer according to the standards in automotive industry.

Programs of the company Hüngsberg AG are the most used software programs for the safe data transfer. At the moment there are two basic varieties, which are designed for the unlimited number of communication partners:

engDAX SE Basic - entering product, which allows sending data through one channel ISDN or TCP/IP.
engDAX SE Entry - product designed for electronic internal exchange of all kinds of data, e.g. VDA, ODETTE, EDIFACT, XML, JIT, CAD/CAM. This variety allows you to send data not only into specified company but also directly to the particular person. In addition it automatically generates electronic dispatch note(fce ENGDAT V2, V3). It is possible to enlarge it with modules for integration with email applications, sw CATIA etc. (only for Windows NT, 2000, XP).
engDAX SE Workgroup - 2-channel version with functions ENGDAT and E-Mail Reporting.

OFTP V2 – CAD data transfer is already a standard

With regard to the increasing costs and to the stress put on increasing the productivity in development of products in automotive industry and also to the increasing size of CAD data generated from new CAD systems, there is a new protocol for data transferring OFTP V2 coming to the market, which has been founded by the organization ODETTE.

Functionality of the new OFTP V2 protocol

The new protocol OFTP V2 offers many advantages compared to the previous version OFTP V1.2:

Data is transferred through Internet, which offers time faster transfer than at the version OFTP V1.2, which uses ISDN line. Also the costs for transferring data through Internet are lower than when using ISDN.
A line-encryption per SSL –it is set in a way to guarantee the safety requested in automotive industry. Encrypting of the file with data of the user is performed using RSA or Triple DES.
The communication authenticity with the partner is guaranteed.
Virtual „file name“ was enlarged from 25 to 255 characters.
